Shane Ellison

Independent Director

Shane has over 25 years global experience in senior leadership roles across the transport and infrastructure sectors.

Currently, he is Infrastructure and Resources Director at Koau Capital Partners Limited. Koau delivers investment services to Māori commercial entities. He also holds or has held directorships with Waipā Networks, Dunedin City Holdings, Dunedin Airport and Auckland Light Rail.

Prior to joining Koau, Shane was Chief Executive Officer at Auckland Transport between 2017 and 2022.

In the period between 2005 and 2017,  Shane held a number of executive roles with Transdev Group around the world including International Development Officer, Chief Operating Officer (New South Wales and Queensland) and had key leadership roles in projects such as Sydney’s $2.2 billion light rail project.

Born and raised in Te Waipounamu, Shane has whakapapa connections to the iwi of Ngāi Tahu, Te Atiawa and Ngāti Mutunga.
