Aukaha works on behalf of mana whenua across the Otago and South Canterbury takiwā, providing pathways to a better future for Kāi Tahu, for iwi Māori, and for our wider communities.
We are a kaupapa Māori consultancy that works across the environmental, social cultural and economic development sectors. We are owned and governed by five Kāi Tahu papatipu rūnaka:
- Te Rūnanga o Waihao
- Te Rūnanga o Moeraki
- Kāti Huirapa Rūnaka ki Puketeraki
- Te Rūnanga o Ōtākou
- Hokonui Rūnanga

We ensure mana whenua values are appropriately and authentically woven through the cultural, economic, social and environmental fabric of their takiwā.
Our Vision
Papatipu rūnaka ki Aukaha and hapū achieve their aspirations and exercise their rakatirataka through the ability of Aukaha to facilitate, champion and advocate for their people and rohe.
