Meet Nicola Morand, Manager Cultural and Economic Development for Aukaha. Nicola has been with Aukaha since mid 2018 and has worked for her iwi for many years in several roles. The role at Aukaha allows Nicola to do all the things she feels passionate about and to be part of an entity with values that mirror her own. Among other things, Nicola is responsible for creating and facilitating opportunities that will encourage more Māori in to their own businesses and employing their own people
“it’s about kaitiakitaka, whanaukataka and manaakitaka, looking after the things we love and value most, our land and our people”.
Nicola and her whānau, a Swiss husband met while travelling and an adored son Nikau, live close the marae in Otakou and they love exploring further afield, with Nikau completing his first global travel at the age of three.
