Aukaha (1997) Ltd is a kaupapa Māori charitable organisation based in Otago that works for mana whenua in the areas of environment, health, social services, and cultural and economic development. We are owned and governed by five Kāi Tahu papatipu rūnaka:

  • Te Rūnanga o Waihao
  • Te Rūnanga o Moeraki
  • Kāti Huirapa Rūnaka ki Puketeraki
  • Te Rūnanga o Ōtākou
  • Hokonui Rūnanga

Are you an experienced administrator looking for a challenging and rewarding role?

This unique position combines essential functions across Human Resources, Health & Safety, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Operations, and General Administration. This multifaceted role ensures smooth day-to-day operations, compliance with relevant regulations, and a positive and productive work environment.

Within this role, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Human Resources: Contribute to the effective management of human resources functions by managing the full recruitment cycle and onboarding process, addressing employee relation queries, assist with performance reviews, and ensure compliance with employment laws.  
  • Health & Safety: Administer and manage Health & Safety and staff wellbeing initiatives, providing secretarial services to the Health & Safety Kōmiti while ensuring strict legislative compliance with the HSWA 2015 and related regulations.
  • Payroll: Accurate and timely processing of fortnightly, monthly, and one-off payrolls, ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Accounts Payable: Manage accounts payable documentation and data processing, ensuring accurate general ledger coding, and supplier record maintenance.
  • Coordination: Coordinate the management of events and functions, provide catering, meeting support, and travel coordination.
  • Operational Support and Collaboration: Provide essential operational support to facilitate the smooth running of Aukaha’s operations.
  • Office Administration: Provide general administrative assistance, including the management of inquiries, minute taking and dissemination, document preparation and formatting, and office maintenance.
  • Reception: Provide backup reception support as required, maintaining a high standard of service.

About you

You are highly organised, motivated, and thrive in dynamic environments. Your excellent time management and communication skills, coupled with your experience in multifaceted administrative roles, HR, and Health & Safety, make you an ideal candidate. You possess a strong understanding of employment law and HSWA 2015. While payroll and accounts payable experience is beneficial, your ability to seamlessly integrate diverse functions and your passion for administration are essential for success in this role.
